The great majority of the buildings in the 8^th arrondissement date back to the 19^th century They include some of the finest examples of Haussmann-era architecture, with harmonious limestone façades lining the avenues and numerous hôtels particuliers of note, including the Hôtel de Marigny (in the street of the same name) and the Musée Jacquemart-André on Boulevard Haussmann. Residents of the 8^th arrondissement are understandably proud of their magnificent neighbourhood, from the hustle and bustle of Boulevard Haussmann and the luxury stores of Avenue Montaigne to the quieter, residential streets around the Place de l’Europe, such as Avenue de Messine and Rue de Téhéran. This part of the city is also a great place to go out in the evening. When they pour out of the Théâtre du Rond-Point (on Avenue Franklin Roosevelt), the Théâtre du Marigny (Marigny Square) or top concert hall L’Olympia (Boulevard des Capucines), locals and visitors are spoilt for choice with all the lively bars and cafés which line the ‘Champs’ and Avenue Georges V.
